She performed what was at the time called music hall, an artistic movement that involved comedy, singing and male. Some of his achievements include, 3 consecutive Sydney Diva Awards, performing shows for Mardi Gras, Sleaze Ball, Queer TV, Gay Games, Pride, Tropical Fruits as well as performing in spaces all over the country before moving overseas in 2006. I have nothing against drag kings or their art, but I don’t think I’d tune into that tv show. Part of being a drag queen though is about deconstructing societies expectations of women and highlighting the absurdity of what we expect of women.
